| Formed in 1983, Megadeth would become a band about retribution. After getting the “axe” from mega-band Metallica, mastermind Dave Mustaine got together with bassist David Ellefson, guitarist Kerry King (of Slayer), and drummer Lee Rash to form Megadeth. Although the line-up would frequently change, Megadeth stayed true to form in their goals, and would become one of the world’s biggest heavy metal bands. By the time Megadeth evolved into a commercial hit, their videos were seen regularly on MTV, their singles received heavy radio play around the globe, and the band was contributing to blockbuster movie soundtracks. Nowadays, Megadeth is as big as ever since the reformation of the band after the crippling effect that playing fast as hell had on leader Mustaine.
